Q: What is Frocktails?
A: Frocktails is an event for makers and sewists to show off you me made outfits surrounded by likeminded friends – old and new.
Frocktails brings sewists together to socialize, celebrate handmade clothing, and build connections within the sewing community.
Q: Do I need to have sewn my own outfit to be able to attend?
A: The idea of Frocktails is to wear something you have made, it doesn’t have to be a new garment especially for the event, it could be something you have had in your wardrobe for a while that never gets an outing or a garment you love wearing everyday
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Whatever you want it to be, there are no rules for Frocktails, you can use it as an excuse to go all out and make something spectacular because - why not? or you can make yourself something you want to wear again.
It also doesn’t have to be a ‘frock’ it can be a skirt, a top, trousers or a jumpsuit, just whatever you feel most comfortable in
Q: What does Garden Glam mean?
A: Because we live in the ‘Garden City’ we decided that Garden Glam would be the perfect theme for our event, use it as inspiration for your outfit if you are unsure what to make? Think floral fabric, maybe a floral facinator, hat or accessories to go with your dress.
Whats included in my ticket price?
A: When you purchase your ticket, you get a arrivals drinks (alcholic or non- alcholic) also we wil be serving a High Tea nibbles throughout the event, plus you get to go in the draw for the fabulous spot prizes.
Q: I don’t know anyone going, I am nervous about coming on my own?
A: No need to be nervous, we are all friends at Frocktails.
Upon arrival, you will be greated by a committee member, let them know you are on your own and we will make sure you get introduced to some fabulous people and we will look after you for the night.
