Q: What is Frocktails?
A: Frocktails is a social event celebrated all over the world, bringing together people who love to sew, create and connect. It is for makers and sewists to show off your me made outfit and celebrate the joy of making. This is an inclusive, welcoming and accessible event. It’s a chance to dress up, meet up with old friends and make new ones.
Frocktails brings sewists together to socialize, celebrate handmade clothing, and build connections within the sewing community. Whether you’ve been sewing for years or just getting started, we’d love you to join us.
Q: Do I need to have sewn my own outfit to be able to attend?
A: The idea of Frocktails is to wear something you have made, it doesn’t have to be a new garment especially for the event, it could be something you have had in your wardrobe for a while that never gets an outing or a garment you love wearing everyday
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Whatever you want it to be, there are no rules for Frocktails, you can use it as an excuse to go all out and make something spectacular because - why not? or you can make yourself something you want to wear again.
It also doesn’t have to be a ‘frock’ it can be a skirt, a top, trousers or a jumpsuit, just whatever you feel most comfortable in
Q: What does Garden Glam mean?
A: Because we live in the ‘Garden City’ we decided that Garden Glam would be the perfect theme for our event, use it as inspiration for your outfit if you are unsure what to make. Think floral fabric, maybe a floral fascinator, hat or accessories to go with your outfit. It can be as much or as little as you want!
Whats included in my ticket price?
A: Your ticket includes bubbles on arrival (a non-alcoholic drink will also be available). The event is a High Tea, plus you go in the draw for the fabulous spot prizes.
Q: I don’t know anyone going, I am nervous about coming on my own?
A: No need to be nervous, we are all friends at Frocktails.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a committee member, let them know you are on your own and we will make sure you get introduced to some fabulous people and we will look after you for the night
